Salman Khan Becomes Highest Advance Tax Payer of Bollywood
Bollywood star Salman Khan has left behind Akshay Kumar and Hritik Roshan in terms of advance tax fills.
The financial year end is round the corner and the list of Bollywood’s advance tax payers is out.
The data of advance tax paid by top ten actors till March 15, 2017 is released and according to it, Salman Khan has paid the highest advance tax thereby beating Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan in the financial year 2016-17.
However, IT department is quite surprised with Kapil Sharma, whose income has shot up by almost 206 per cent in just one year.
Also, the department was surprised to find Aamir Khan clock in a growth of just 54% and pay an advance tax of a mere Rs 14 crore despite earning huge profit from his last film, Dangal.
Shockingly, Akshay Kumar’s report showed a negative growth in income. The actor had three hits in the year 2016, namely Airlift, Rustom and Housefull 3.
The report also has three actresses on the list – Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor. The Hollywood debut doesn’t seem to have made a vast difference in Deepika’s earning’s while Alia Bhatt has shown a steady growth of almost 46% in her annual income.
Kareena Kapoor, who didn’t have any release last year due to pregnancy saw a negative growth in her income.
The Income Tax Department refused to share details of Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan's tax returns as the trio are under investigation in the Panama paper leak case for illegally siphoning money to tax havens.
