“Pan Fried Mushroom” An Interesting Side Dish Recipe

Pan Fried Mushroom is an interesting side dish recipe that you can make at home for your loved ones in get-togethers and on special occasions like birthday and kitty parties. It is a very popular, delicious, flavorful Indian style dish prepared with mushrooms. It is a scrumptious and very easy-to-make North Indian recipe as it uses readily available ingredients in your kitchen like mushrooms, capsicums and onions. If you are done with garam masala loaded mushroom dishes like Mushroom Tikka, Kadhai Mushroom and Mushroom Peas Masala, this mushroom recipe is a welcome variation as it uses soy sauce and vinegar. It is a must try mushroom recipe for parties and special occasions. You can also garnish this mushroom recipe with onions rings for that extra crunch!


  • 1/2 cup button mushroom
  • 1/2 cup capsicum ( green pepper)
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 tablespoon red chilli sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 8 peppercorns
  • 1/2 cup oyster mushroom
  • 1/2 tablespoon red peppers
  • 2 medium onion
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1 handful basil

How to make Pan Fried Mushroom

  • Step 1
    Put oyster mushrooms and button mushrooms in a bowl. Soak them in lukewarm water for 20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Heat the oil in a large pan over moderate flame. Add the onions and saute over medium heat till translucent. Add garlic and stir-fry for a minute. Now add mushrooms, red and yellow capsicums and saute on high heat for three minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add soy sauce, red chilli sauce and vinegar and saute for another two minutes. Now add thyme, salt and crushed peppercorns. Remove from heat, stir in basil and serve hot.
