Paneer Paratha Recipe
Paneer is also known as cottage cheese is used in a variety of dishes worldwide. It forms main course dishes, a part of salads and even desserts in the form of cream cheese. Paneer is also known as the Indian cheese & is one of the most versatile ingredients available for cooking. Punjab women make their own paneer by adding curds to milk thus making it thick. This paneer can then be grated or crumbled and combined with a blend of simple masalas making it an ideal stuffing for a Parathas.
Preparation Time: 25 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins
For The batter -
3/4 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
3/4 cup plain flour (maida)
salt to taste
2 tsp oil
To Be Mixed Into A Stuffing -
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
1 tsp dried mango powder (amchur)
1 1/2 cups grated paneer (cottage cheese)
Other Ingredients :
whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
ghee for cooking
Cooking Method :
For the batter :
Combine all the ingredients and knead into a soft, smooth dough using enough water.
Divide the dough into 5 equal portions. Keep aside.
How to proceed :
Divide the stuffing into 5 equal portions and Keep aside.
Roll out 1 portion of the dough into a circle of 3 inch diameter using whole wheat flour for rolling.
In the centre of the circle, place one part of the stuffing and bring together all the sides in the centre and seal tightly.
Roll out again into a square of 5 inch using whole wheat flour.
Cook on a hot tava (pan) using a little oil, until both sides are golden brown.
Serve hot with ketchup or any sabzi.
