    Ram Navami Special: Delicious Almond Burfi Recipe

    Indian sweet recipe prepared with powdered almonds and sugar syrup. It is typically served as a dessert after full main course meal, and even prepared during any major Indian festival.

    On the day of Ram Navmi you can try this at your home. So check out the recipe first and enjoy it with your family and friends.


    3/4 cup badam / almonds

    1 cup hot water

    3/4 cup sugar

    1/2 cup water

    2 tbsp saffron milk

    4 cardamom / elachi, powdered

    2 tbsp ghee / clarified butter

    Soak Almonds

    First take a large bowl and soak 3/4 cup of almonds in 1 cup of hot water for 1 hour.

    Peel It

    Now slowly peel the skin from badam and keep aside. After peeling it make it dry.

    Grind Almond

    Take the badam into a small blender and blend to coarse powder. keep aside. You can also add milk in it while blending to prepare a smooth paste.

    Prepare Sugar Syrup

    Prepare the sugar syrup by adding 3/4 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water. Boil the sugar syrup till it forms one string consistency.

    Add Almond Powder

    Now add the prepared almond powder.

    Add Saffron

    Also add saffron milk. To prepare saffron milk, soak few strands of saffron in warm milk for 10 minutes.

    Add cardamom Powder

    Now add cardamom powder for more flavors. Mix continuously keeping flame on low to medium.

    Add Ghee

    Once the mixture begins to boil, add 1 tbsp of ghee and, it is optional, but do add more flavor to burfi.

    Keep Stirring

    Continue to mix continuously till the mixture starts to leave the pan. if you prefer slightly hard burfi then continue to stir for longer time.

    Transfer It

    Transfer the badam dough onto the butter paper. Add a tsp of ghee to make smooth dough.

    Roll It

    Cool it for 5 minutes. do not rest more, as they will turn hard and wont be able to give shape. Grease your hand with little ghee and knead for a minute and prepare a dough. After that roll it.

    Cut It

    Now cut the burfi into pieces.

    Now you burfi is ready so enjoy it with friends and family.
