    Try All New Punjabi Kadhi Pakora Recipe

    This is a traditional recipe of Punjab. Prepare Punjabi Kadhi recipe at your home only and enjoy with family and friends. Check out the recipe.

    INGREDIENTS: KADHAI MIXTURE:

    1.5 cups full fat curd or 375 gram sour curd

    3 cups water

    1/2 tsp red chili powder

    1/2 tsp turmeric powder

    1/2 tsp garam masala

    generous pinch of hing

    Salt as per taste

    8 tbsp besan

    mustard oil for shallow frying or frying

    FOR PAKORAS:

    1 cup thinly sliced onions

    1 cup besan

    1/2 tsp red chili powder

    1/2 tsp turmeric powder

    1/2 tsp garam masala powder

    1/2 tsp ajwain or carom seeds

    Salt as per taste

    1/4 cup water

    PUNJABI KADHI:

    1/3 cup chopped onions

    1 tbsp chopped or grated ginger

    3/4 to 1 tbsp chopped garlic

    8 to 10 fenugreek seeds

    2 chopped green chilies

    1 tsp cumin seeds

    Generous pinch of hing

    8 to 10 sprig curry leaves

    2 tbsp mustard oil

    Whisk Curd

    Take a bowl and add 1.5 cups sour curd or 375 grams of curd and whisk it properly.

    Add Spices

    Now add 8 tbsp gram flou or besan, ½ tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp garam masala powder and 1 tsp salt. Add salt as per your taste and whisk it properly.

    Mix It

    Whisk everything properly. Add spices if required.

    Add Water

    Now add 3 cups of water in it an mix it properly. You have to mix well so there are no lumps remain. You can use your hand or blunder.

    Prepare Batter

    Now take another bowl and add 1 cup gram flour or besan, ½ tsp ajwain or carom seeds, ½ tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp garam masala powder and salt as per your taste.

    Add Onions

    Now add 1 cup thinly sliced onions in it and mix everything properly.

    Coat It

    Coat the onions with besan properly, cover it and keep it aside for 30 minutes.

    Add Water

    To make it moist you can also add slight amount of water if required. Otherwise skip it.

    Fry It

    Now take a deep frying pan and fry the coated onions In a hot oil properly. Remember oil is should not be too hot or cold.

    Frying

    Fry the onions till it changes its color to light or golden brown.

    Remove It

    After frying it remove it from the pan and place it into the kitchen towel paper to remove excess amount of oil.

    Fry Cumin Seeds

    After frying the onions you can use same pan or take another pan and 1 tsp cumin seeds and 8 to 10 methi seeds or fenugreek seeds and pinch of hing and fry them on low flame.

    Add Onions

    After that add 1/3 cup chopped onion in it and sauté it for another 3 minutes on low flame.

    Add Garlic

    Now add 1 tbsp chopped ginger, ¾ to 1 tbsp chopped garlic and chopped 2 green chilies in it and sauté it for 1 minute.

    Add Curry Leaves

    Now add 8 to 10 curry leaves, 2 dry red chilies in it and sauté it.

    Add curd Mixture

    Now add the curd mixture and mix everything. Stir it well and cook it on a low flame.

    Stir It

    But remember the kadhi will not get stick to the bottom of the pan. Cook it properly.

    Add Pakodas

    Now add fried pakodas in it and mix it with the kadhi.

    Mix It

    Mix it with kadhi. You can also add pakoda while serving the kadhi.

    Serve It

    Now your Punjabi Kadhi is ready to serve. So serve it with rice or chapatti as you like and enjoy the meal.
