2017 Hyundai Xcent Launched In India

    Hyundai Xcent

    On Thursday in an event Hyundai Motor India already launched its Hyundai Grand i10 and recently revealed the new version of its Hyundai Xcent sub-compact sedan.

    The introductory prices of the petrol variants of the 2017 Hyundai Xcent ranges from Rs 5.38 to Rs 7.09 lakh and the diesel variants are priced between Rs 6.28 - 8.41 lakh in Delhi. There a total of six petrol variants and five diesel variants on offer.

    Hyundai Xcent was first in India in 2014 and over 2.5 lakh units have been sold since then. Hyundai Xcent takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Honda Amaze, Volkswagen Ameo and Tata Tigor.

    The new Hyundai Xcent comes with new cascade design grille with horizontal chrome slots very similar to the design on the Hyundai Elantra and the face-lifted Hyundai Verna.

    The sub-compact sedan also gets LED DRLs and fog lamps. Rear of the car now gets a two piece wraparound tail lamps and dual tone rear bumpers.

    It also has the shark-fin antenna and wheel air curtains. Hyundai claims a boot space of 407 litre of boot space on the Xcent.

    The top-end variants of Hyundai Xcent now features a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports smart phone integration including Apple Car Play, Google Android Auto and Navigation.

    The infotainment system also includes voice recognition. The Hyundai Grand i10 the Hyundai Xcent also gets a powerful 1.2L U2 diesel engine which sheds out a power of 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque.

    Hyundai claims a mileage of 25.40 kmpl on this new diesel engine on the Xcent. Earlier the diesel variant of the car was powered by a 1.1L engine.

    On the petrol side, the car gets the same 1.2L Kappa engine shedding out 83 PS of power and 113.7 Nm of torque. The petrol variants get an option of both manual and automatic gearbox.

    2017 Hyundai Xcent petrol manual claims a mileage of 20.14 kmpl and on the AT variant the claimed mileage is 17.36 kmpl. On the safety front dual-font airbags and ABS are offered as a standard fitment.

    Sales of Hyundai Xcent in the domestic market has declined by 5% as per SIAM. The company sold a total of 47,614 units of its sub-4-meter Xcent in FY 2016-17 as compared to 50,070 units in FY 2015-16.
