    It’s been nearly 4 months since Reliance Jio launched their services and offered unlimited voice calling and 4G data free to customers who on boarded their network.

    But the customer are not so happy with the speed of the network. According to the TRAI, Reliance provides poor 4G service in telecom industry. The lowest download speed was 6.2 mbps

    Reliance Jio average download speeds reached 18.16 Mbps in December 2016, reveals new data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

    The download speed on Reliance Jio, which offers services on a pan-India 4G network, was roughly four times higher than Airtel’s 4G speed of 4.74 Mbps in December. Vodafone’s 4G speed was 9.66 Mbps last month, as per data from TRAI.

    The monthly average mobile data speed published by TRAI showed that the Reliance Jio download speed was 5.85 Mbps in November 2016, which was lower than peak speed of 7.26 Mbps in September.

    Reliance Jio announced the operator planned to set up additionall 600 network towers by the end of H1 2016 further strengthening network.

    According to TRAI reports, a Jio’s average download data speed for December 2016 was registered at a respectable 9.9 Mbps, nearly 80 percent higher than India’s largest operator Airtel, who registered an average speed of 5.8 Mbps.

    Interestingly, Telenor (5.4 Mbps) beat average speed of Idea Cellular (4.3 Mbps) and Vodafone (4.2 Mbps). On the other hand, Airtel speeds have seen a consistent drop in the months of November and December. Vodafone is other operator, whose speed have seen consistent but slow rise.

    January may witness even better speeds for Jio because now they have further reduced their free 4G data offering to 1GB per day from earlier 4GB.
